Liam Neeson (‚KÖNIGREICH DER HIMMEL‘) spielt die Hauptrolle in dem Thriller ‚TAKEN‘. Das Drehbuch kommt aus der Feder von Regisseur Luc Besson (‚ANGEL-A‘), der auch für die Produktion verantwortlich zeichnet. Die Inszenierung übernimmt Luc Bessons langjähriger Mitarbeiter Pierre Morel, der unter anderem bei dem Film ‚THE TRANSPORTER‘ als Kameramann tätig war. In ‚TAKEN‘ spielt Liam Neeson einen Ex-Geheimagenten, dessen von ihm entfremdete Tochter (Maggie Grace: ‚DER JANE AUSTEN CLUB‘) während eines Europa- Besuchs in die Hände von Menschenhändlern fällt und entführt wird. Daraufhin setzt er all seine Fähigkeiten als Ex-Spion ein, um die geliebte Tochter zu retten. Schon bald ist er den Kidnappern dicht auf den Fersen.
